Pet Pak d.o.o., a company specialising in packaging and packaging, has implemented advanced digitalisation of the production process by integrating three key components: an ERP system, an MES interface and smart AGVs that communicate with the automated wrapping line.
Digitised AGV call via MES display
At the heart of the automation, a proprietary MES user interface has been developed and implemented, where the operator simply clicks on the screen to call up the AGV. The vehicle is then automatically directed to the appropriate location, picks up the pallet or crate and drives it to the automated wrapping station.
This connection between ERP, MES and the physical device allows:
full real-time traceability of tasks
reducing the need for physical manipulation
reduced waiting times and increased production throughput
Automated turning station
At the other end of the line, AGVs hand over the material to a wrapping station where the packaging is automatically wrapped, labelled and prepared for dispatch. All cycle data is synchronised back into the ERP system, providing an accurate and up-to-date picture of inventory, operating times and material consumption.
Link to ERP system
The ERP system has been customised to:
receiving statuses and signals from the MES system
automatic creation of AGV orders
monitoring performance from a single management point
Results of digitisation
100% traceability of processes and materials
Reduction of transport and wrapping errors
Human-machine integration takes place in one system
Lower costs and higher productivity
We would like to thank Pet Pak d.o.o. for trusting us to develop one of the most advanced examples of smart integration of ERP, MES and physical automation.
